Happy 2018! Last year, I had an extensive list of goals and resolutions. I never went back and checked them so it was sort of pointless. This year I’m changing things up and instead of listing out a bunch of goals, I’m just going to focus on one thing-taking care of myself! I spent the better […]
2017 was a tough year for me. Saying goodbye to my love bug, sweet dog Scarlett, was really hard emotionally but also financially as we spent a lot of money trying to save her. I dipped into my stockpile of diabetes supplies as I didn’t have the best health insurance. And my husband and I struggled to find a good work/life balance, one drawback to having your own business. I was also sick a lot, especially towards the end of the year. We constantly felt like we were drowning but at the same time we did a LOT of fun things.
I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day! 2016 was a great year for me because I welcomed my second son into this world. Everyday he gets more and more smiley and I’m so thankful to have baby snuggles again. While 2016 was great, it was also pretty […]
It’s been a really bad start to 2016 so far for me. My son ended up getting Croup and RSV and we have had to use a nebulizer for him. I ended up in the ER due to a GI virus, which my husband also got but not as severe as mine. We are also […]
2015 flew by. As the saying goes, the days are long but the years are short and I can’t emphasize how true that is for me. In years past, I’ve had big things happening (2010-MBA, 2011-Wedding, 2012-Bought a house, 2013-Started running and ran a half marathon, triathlon, etc, 2014-Had a baby). This past year was a little more low key. My husband and I didn’t take any crazy trips like we have in the past. We didn’t go skiing or go to any conferences (no diabetes conferences for me). But this year was probably one of the most memorable because we shared it with my son. To be honest, it was also probably one of the toughest. A newborn baby is no joke but when his first birthday rolled around we were super happy we had “survived”. It wasn’t all bad, just difficult. However, I received a ton of snuggles and kisses from my son to make it all worth it.
Eek, I can’t believe it’s already July!! I wanted to take a quick minute before this holiday weekend to reflect on my New Year’s resolutions. I went back to my 2015 resolutions post and I’m sad to say I haven’t done very well. Here are what my goals were:
Happy 2015 all! 2014 will be a hard year to top but it was such a great year that I ended up failing on most of my resolutions so I’m going to try and do better this year. I’m trying to not be too optimistic but I also want to achieve some pretty big things this year. So here are what I’m going to try to achieve this year:
I started the year completing a half marathon and meeting Paul Rudd (see below) and finished the year snuggling with my newborn son. I had some bumps in the road throughout but all in all I can’t complain.
Last year, I made a list of New Year’s Resolutions; I did an update mid-year and I reviewed how I did at the end of the year and I had accomplished my goals for 2013. This year, things were a little less clear and focused. I started focusing on the January half-marathon so I didn’t […]
OK, so I am way late with posting my New Years resolutions. I’ve had a hard time getting going this year for some reason. I dealt with high blood sugars, sickness, vacation and lots of work among other things so I’m just now getting back into the blogging world. I liked listing my goals for […]
