For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I wrote extensively about both of my pregnancies. After my first pregnancy, I was actually contacted to share my experiences on Type 1 diabetes and pregnancy for a book to be published.
I mentioned in a previous post that things went fairly well for us this time around in regards to the birth. However, there was one thing about the birth and hospital stay that made me a little upset. My son was born with low blood sugar. Low blood sugar is pretty common for most babies. […]
Since it’s Wednesday, I thought I’d do a “wordless Wednesday” post. I love looking at my data on Carelink. Below is one report of my total daily insulin during and after pregnancy. Can you tell when I had my baby!? Pretty crazy how much insulin needs change!
Last week, my son and I went for his one month checkup. My husband had been going with me to each pediatrician’s appointment, but it was always such a production with my toddler in tow. We decided he would stay home with the toddler and I would handle the appointment on my own.
And just like that, it’s been a month since I gave birth! It has definitely been a roller coaster ride so far and not just for my blood sugars. Baby 2’s first month of life has been a lot more stressful than my first’s. Luckily, my first didn’t have any issues except maybe struggling to figure out day and night like most babies. This time around, we have encountered a ton of different issues.
On Tuesday, July 19th (my husband’s birthday), we welcomed our second son into this world. He was born via C-section at 9:47AM, weighing 11 pounds 2 ounces and 22 inches long. Unlike my first son’s birth, this birth was a lot less dramatic.
The newest addition to my family!! This little guy arrived last Tuesday, the 19th at 9:47AM via c-section. He weighed a whopping 11 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. I’m still recovering but hope to share the birth story and how my blood sugars and baby did soon! Have a great weekend and […]
Tomorrow is the big day!! I get to meet my second baby boy! I’m officially 38 weeks today and I feel ginormous! The last week or so has been really tough; I haven’t been able to move around as much and I am so exhausted! Luckily, my husband has reduced his hours at work this past week so he has been able to help out with our toddler.
Happy July! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, almost a month! Honestly, this pregnancy is getting the better of me. I have been fighting a cold for what seems like forever (in reality it’s been about three weeks). My last “pregnancy” specific post was when I was entering the third trimester, which seems like a lifetime ago! So I thought I’d try and take a minute to catch you up on what’s been going on.
On Monday, my baby bump turned 28 weeks old! I’m officially in the third trimester and I can’t believe it. What is crazier is that this baby will be born in less than 11 weeks!! This pregnancy is definitely going by way faster than my first.
