Blue Circle Voices

Posted on

I have exciting news to share! The International Diabetes Federation has launched a new initiative called Blue Circle Voices.

The aim of Blue Circle Voices is

to represent the interests of people living with, or affected by, diabetes, through a worldwide network of members and other stakeholders. BCV act as the global voice of people living with diabetes and draws upon the experiences of people living with diabetes.

It is an initiative with 101 members representing all IDF regions across the globe.  These members include men and women with T1D, T2D, gestational diabetes and also caregivers of a person with diabetes with a wide variety of care including use of glucose meters, CGMs and insulin pumps.

I am excited to be included in this network, representing one of 14 out of the North America continent.  It is a new program for the IDF so I’m still learning about it but I hope to share more information as I receive it and advocate for challenges we face in the world today.

Here I am on IDF’s website!

  1. What a great idea! Glad to have you leading the way. My daughter and I are both T1D. She developed T1D at 15. She has two children, and was able to have normal deliveries of 7 and 8 lb babies. I developed T1D at 50, surprise to my family physician.
