Wildtree Meals

About a month ago, I talked about a Wildtree party that I attended.  Since then, I have made nine of the meals (last meal I am cooking tonight-Sausage and Peppers).

Overall, I enjoyed the meals.  It was amazing having 10 meals pre-prepared.  The only downside was that they were all made with the same spices and oils so all 10 meals had similar tastes.  If I were to do this again, I would maybe make 5 meals with these spices then 5 different meals with other spices and alternate.  The meals were either crock pot, bake or grill.  The crock pot ones were hands down the easiest to make and I would make those again in a heartbeat.  The others weren’t too bad though but required a little more prep and clean up, semi defeating the purpose of having prepared them ahead of time.

As much as I hate the term “diabetic friendly”, I will say that all of the meals were low carb and as a result were pretty nice on my blood sugars.  All the meals were mainly just meat and veggies.  The veggies weren’t the greatest after being fresh then frozen then thawed but they weren’t too bad.  I did add carbs to every meal because I’m just not wired to eat too low carb haha.

  1. I did a Wildtree party before, but always forgot to thaw my meals. I ended up throwing away a good number of them b/c it was like 8 months later – oops! :-/ I did the diet-friendly package I think – shrimp scampi, greek chicken burgers and the tilapia were some of my favorites. I agree on the frozen veggies – I’m never doing that again! Gross. I’ll just buy them fresh from the store the day before. I love the idea, but hate how I’d forget to thaw the meals!!

    • Yeah, I agree about buying the veggies fresh the day before, but it was so nice cutting up all the veggies at one time for 10 meals! Prepping for recipes is my least favorite thing about cooking (besides clean up). I didn’t forget to thaw my meals because we have such limited freezer space-our freezer was PACKED so the sooner we got those meals out the better haha.
