It’s been a few weeks since my last post mainly because I was in NYC last week. My husband was in a wedding in Long Island over the weekend so we decided to make a week of it and go the Monday before the wedding weekend. I had never been to NYC before so my itinerary consisted of a TON of touristy stops. We went to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, FAO Schwarz, Wall Street, 9-11 Memorial, Tiffany’s, Grand Central Station, Lego Store (of course because my hubby is obsessed with Legos and can’t wait to buy some for baby) and American Museum of Natural History; we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, rode the Staten Island Ferry across to see the Statue of Liberty, took a romantic carriage ride through Central Park and saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. I even got a chance to meet a fellow D-blogger, Scott from Rolling in the D! It was great to meet you Scott, I’m glad we were able to make it happen and the weather turned out well. I randomly got a Motor Error the next day, my first time with the new pump, crazy coincidence right?
We did a TON of walking and by the end of the week, my back was killing me from carrying around the baby the whole time in my belly. I don’t know how guys with beer bellies do it for longer than a week or 9 months! I did get a lot of nice treatment because of my belly during the week. I encountered at least 4 long bathroom lines where the women in the line offered me a spot in the front, instead of waiting. I only took this offer up once though. I also always had a subway seat and I got a TON of smiles from people all over the place (maybe New Yorkers are just always that friendly but I think my belly had something to do with it). My blood sugars did OK throughout the week, not too great. I actually talked about my diabetes and pregnancy during the trip over at Diabetes Sisters’ website, so check it out! Since I discussed my blood sugars over there, I won’t rehash it here so I’ll just share some photos from the trip here instead:
Also, the wedding weekend was a blast. There was more food than I could have ever imagined and a live band made it a really fun wedding reception. I’m still recovering from how late I stayed up that night haha.
Also, today marks the official start of my third trimester! Hope you have a great Saturday :).
